So you've decided you want a fresh start in Where Winds Meet, or maybe you need to link accounts for crossplay. But there's a catch: you can only have one character per account, and deleting it isn't as simple as hitting a button. Here's what you need to know.
The only way to delete your character is to email wherewindsmeet@global.netease.com and ask for help. This email is actually listed for players who want to link accounts but can't because they've already created a character on both platforms. We don't know how long it takes or what info they'll ask for, but to speed things up, include your platform (Steam, Epic Games, official PC launcher, or PS5) and your platform ID (Steam ID, PSN ID, etc.) in your initial request.
If you just want to change your appearance, you don't need to delete anything. Open the menu, choose Appearance, then look for Appearance again at the bottom of the screen. That'll take you back to the character creator. The only thing you can't change is your hairstyle—you'll need to buy or unlock those. Makeup changes are free, but other changes require a ticket, and the first one is free. You can also change your gender every 14 days using a ticket.
We don't know if Where Winds Meet will ever let you delete and create characters freely, but the developer has said: "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Currently, each account is limited to one character, and there is no option to delete or create a new character within the same account. If you wish to start over, you will need to register a new account. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we are now working on improve this matter."
As that quote suggests, you can start over by using a different platform or a different platform account. Where Winds Meet is on Steam, Epic Games, an official PC launcher, and PS5. That might be the quickest way to reset, but remember: if you've bought anything, you won't get it back.
Did this help you out? Let us know in the comments if you've successfully deleted a character and how the process went!
