Ever found yourself trekking across the massive plains of Where Winds Meet and wishing you had a faster way to travel? Well, you're in luck because the game hands you a horse pretty early on. But did you know there are more mounts to snag, each with unique skills? Let's dive in and get you riding in style.
Right after the tutorial, you'll start the first quest, 'Chapter One: Heaven Has No Pier.' This quest sends you and Ruby to the General's Shrine. As you get close, you'll run into Roundy, a rude fellow who's just stolen a horse. He'll shout at you for a bit, and then you'll get a side objective to chase him down.
Catch up to Roundy and interact with him to pull him off his horse and claim it as your own. You'll know you've succeeded when a notification pops up at the top of your screen saying 'Horse Obtained.' And just like that, you've got your first mount!
If one horse isn't enough, you can add more to your stable. Head to the Mount tab in the Appearance menu to see what's available. You'll find two categories: Ingenious and Exploration Rewards. You can steal or capture mounts in the Exploration Rewards section, but for Ingenious mounts, you'll need to purchase them or get them through gacha-style draws.
For Exploration Rewards mounts, select one and choose 'How to Obtain' > 'Horse Capture' or 'Snatch Horse' to see a map showing the nearest location where you can find that mount using that method. It's a handy way to track down your next ride.
Each mount has different skills that make them suited for various tasks. Ingenious mounts boast powerful abilities like finding treasure or even teleporting you directly to your destination. Exploration Reward mounts have simpler but still practical skills. Here's a rundown of the mount skills we've discovered so far.
So, get out there and start building your stable. With a trusty steed by your side, the world of Where Winds Meet becomes a lot more manageable. Did this guide help you get your first horse? Let us know in the comments below!
