How to Beat the Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet

Ever found yourself staring down a cave full of vipers, wondering how you're supposed to get past them to face the boss? That's exactly the situation you'll face with the Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet. This World Boss is no joke, but with the right strategy, you'll have him beaten in no time.

First things first, you need to find him. The Snake Doctor is located in a cave in the Encircling Lake area of the Qinghe region. The entrance is just off a dirt road that leads to the bottom corner of the map. Once you're inside, you'll need to drop down into a chamber that's absolutely crawling with vipers. Trust me, you don't want to stay there for more than a couple of seconds—they'll shred your health. Instead, slide along the left wall and dash through the next corridor immediately. You'll find a Hero's Tomb there to heal up before the fight.

Now, the Snake Doctor himself. As you'd expect, his danger comes from his serpentine pals and their venom. Several of his attacks stack a Poison debuff that can drain your health fast. The key is to stay in melee range and keep the pressure on. We recommend bringing either the Strategic Sword or the Infernal Twinblades, with the Panacea Fan as your second weapon. The swords are quick enough to let you get in multiple hits while staying mobile, and the fan gives you strong healing to counteract the poison.

Before you head in, make sure your gear and Martial Arts are maxed out for your Solo Mode level. We stopped at level 4: Roaming and capped everything at level 40, which let us reach an Average Enhancement Level of 10. That should give you enough of an edge.

In the first phase, the Snake Doctor mostly uses melee attacks with clear red telegraphs. Parry these whenever you can to drop his Qi bar, then use executions to take a big chunk of his health. Before you finish off his last health bar, use your fan to top off your HP—you'll want to enter phase two with full health.

Phase two is where things get nasty. He starts relying more on his snakes and throws poison gas bombs that stack the same Poison debuff. But here's the trick: if you stay right on him in melee range, he'll rarely use those attacks. Keep parrying to create openings and stick with him as he moves around the cave. He will get away from you once or twice, so be ready to dodge those poison bombs. If you do get a few stacks of poison, pull out the Panacea Fan and drop a Cloudburst Healing to heal through the damage.
