Ever found yourself trapped in a nightmare, fighting a boss that seems to know your every move? That's exactly what happens in the Still Shore Hidden Chapter in Where Winds Meet. This quest is mandatory to progress past Chapter 1: A Horse Neighs in the Forest, so you'll need to face your fears. Here's your guide to surviving the dreamscape and taking down Aunt Han.
Once you're below the well, head down the single passageway to your left. Use fire arrows to light the sconces on the walls. Watch out for the aggressive faceless ones and trap floor panels that shoot fire arrows. Those trap tiles look just like regular ones, but they'll sink when stepped on. At the end, drop through the hole in the floor.
Follow the passage to the end of the hall, then turn left. Push open the door to enter a large room with a chest and what looks like the village doctor's storage. The door here is locked from the other side, so cross the room and follow the next corridor to the end. On the left, you'll see a small pocket room with a broken wall. Step through to a second-floor balcony overlooking an enclosed underground courtyard.
Drop into the courtyard and head to the center. Look at the stones on the ground to find a flute and sheet music. Pick them up to trigger a cutscene of your character learning a haunting melody. Now, go to the large pressure plate at the center. Stand on it and play the song you just learned โ no minigame needed. The faceless ones will automatically come stand on the plate, adding enough weight to unlock the door. Push it open to enter an elaborate treasure room. Activate the Boundary Stone on your right, then head to the table at the back and read the mysterious book. You'll get a chance to practice three Martial Arts, but your character will suddenly become ill and pass out.
You wake up back in the clinic, but everything's wrong. A red glow paints the walls, and you're completely alone. Exit through the front door โ instead of Blissful Retreat, you find a haunting cavern with spectral people. Interact with each phantom to learn more about Aunt Han's fate, then squeeze through the gap in the wall at the end.
Follow the path through the nightmarish open space, jumping over crumbling path pieces. When you reach the Hero's Tomb, interact with it to heal โ a boss fight is ahead. Continue up to find a nightmare version of Aunt Han. She'll jump down and attack, seemingly unaware of who you are.
This boss fight is all about dodging. Pay attention to dodge prompts to minimize damage, and use combos and special attacks to deal damage fast. She has two phases: a physical fight, then a 'heartbreaker' phase with undodgeable magic attacks. When she flies up and shoots red energy beams, focus on dodging until she lands. Then deliver quick blows to keep her from using that attack again. Keep her cornered to limit her options.
After you defeat her, you'll wake up in the treasure room. The Faceless One Cheng Xin has followed you and asks for his flute back. Return it, then push open the door behind him to find another passageway.
